The OxFEST mentoring scheme aims to provide members of OxFEST with the personal support of a more experienced individual. This support may take the form of email contact, face-to-face meetings, telephone calls or video calls.

OxFEST hopes that mentors and mentees will enjoy a relationship that can be built up based upon shared experiences. The mentees will hopefully benefit from the mentors about careers, academic issues and mentor’s experiences.

OxFEST Mentoring Scheme offers mentors from both academia and industry, and is the only such scheme at Oxford University open to undergraduate students as well as graduates.

Objectives for Mentees

To have the opportunity to discuss questions about their academic issues, careers and general questions about university life with someone who has been through similar experiences, and could offer help and advice. Our mentors come from various fields of studies and occupations. They are at different stages of their career, ranging form 3rd year undergraduates to postdoctoral researchers and professionals in industry. If you would like to have more information on the available mentors, please get in touch with OxFEST (
